one of the piles is sorta shy. he's hiding back there
It seems like it's always feast or famine around our house. Either we have enough food to feed the entire village of Chaumont, or we can barely find something edible for the both of us (canned venison, anyone?). Either we have a house full of friends and family, or it's just me and the pets. Either we have a yard filled with dirt or a yard...without any dirt. Okay, maybe that one deserves a bit of explaining.

There are some major renovations occurring right down the road from us, and the owners kindly told us that we could have any leftover dirt when they were done. Great, we said. We need topsoil.

And then late Wednesday night, RJ got a call and they apparently told him that if he didn't pick up the soil ASAP the next morning, it would all disappear. Or something grave like that. Regardless, he was off to get it at 6am Thursday, and now our yard has massive piles of dirt in it. Five dumptruck loads of it!

And that is a story about how our yard looked as of 9:00am Thursday morning.

two more over here, and one I forgot to document

Did I tell you we're having an outdoor party on Saturday?
